Rob Saladin Wins the Capital Region Classic ($46,034)

The inaugural $260 Capital Region Classic more than doubled the $100,000 guaranteed drawing a total of 1,095 entries creating a prize pool  of $272,655. When the dust settled Rob Saladin was the last man standing.

Saladin bested a stacked field that included poker pro Mike Dentale, Joe Palma, Shaun Deeb, Jose Montes, Kevin Grabel and Greg Fishberg just to name a few. Salad put on an impressive performance with a dominant Day 1 holding the wire to wire to chip lead and coming into to Day  2 with over 300,000.

Day 2 Saladin kept his foot on the gas and held a big stack through much of the day. Saladin came into the final table as the second shortest stack but that didn’t stop him. After tripling up holding pocket aces he never looked back on his way to victory. Saladin takes home $46,034 and the Capital Region Trophy and this concludes our blog coverage.

Thank you to all the players, dealers and casino staff that made the Rivers Capital Region Classic a smash success.
