Shaun Deeb Wins the Capital Region Classic ($36,559)

The $260 Capital Region Classic NLH $100,000 Guaranteed event once again drew a massive field. There were 733 total entries to create a prize ppol of $181,565 nearly doubling the guarantee. When the dust settled it was Shaun Deeb in the winners circle taking home $36,559 and the Capital Region Classic.

Deeb bought in on Day 2 and almost immediately doubled his starting stack. He was then off to the races moving into the Day 2 chip lead early and never looking back. When the final table started Deeb held more than double the chips of the nearest player. He never relinquished his lead and with three players left he was holding more than half of the chips in play.

The final three players agreed to a deal in which Deeb took first place for $36,559 and the Capital Region Classic trophy. Deeb adds another major title to his long list of poker accomplishments that now include 2 WSOP bracelets, and EPT title a PCA title and over $2,800,000 in live earnings.
