John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band

Founded in 1972 with mainstream success in the 1980’s, originally known as Beaver Brown, started out as a New England bar band in Rhode Island. Following the self-release of “Wild Summer Nights” and “ Tender Years” their now-classic songs sold over 10,000 copies and garnered them attention up and down the Atlantic seaboard. Best known for their original soundtrack to “Eddie & The Cruisers” motion picture, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart and produced a number 7 hit single “On The Dark Side” on the Billboard 100. This album was eventually certified Triple Platinum by the RIAA.

Fun Facts: “On The Dark Side” held the number 1 position on the Billboard Rock charts and the MTV video charts for five consecutive weeks. The band was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame in 2012. The band and Cafferty’s music have been included on several major motion pictures including “There’s Something about Mary,” “Dumb and Dumber To,” “Rocky IV”, and “Jersey Girl.”
