Rock ‘N’ Roll Legend Johnny Rivers and Tributes to Steely Dan and Jimmy Buffet Coming to Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady in April
Schenectady, NY (January 20, 2020) – Guests will experience all the classic hits from rock ‘n’ roll legend Johnny Rivers, the jazz rock songs of Steely Dan with Brooklyn Charmers, and the ultimate beach party with the music of Jimmy Buffet during the Changes in Latitudes dinner show at the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Event Center in April.
Tickets to the Changes in Latitudes dinner show go on sale Wednesday, January 22 at 10 a.m. and tickets for Johnny Rivers go on sale Friday, January 24 at 10 a.m. Tickets are available at riverscasinoandresort.com, tickets.proctors.org or the Proctors Theater Box Office in Schenectady. Brooklyn Charmers, a tribute to Steely Dan, is free and exclusively for Rush Rewards members with tickets available on Friday, April 24 starting at 8 a.m at the Rush Rewards Center at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady.
Wednesday, April 15: Parrotheads will be transported back to the beach with the songs of Jimmy Buffet during the Changes in Latitudes dinner show. Changes in Latitudes recreates the complete Jimmy Buffet concert experience with a full tropical stage set-up while leader, Steve Kareta, replicates Jimmy’s causal, storyteller style, taking fans on a laid-back musical trip through the sun-drenched waters of the Caribbean. Guests will hear Buffet classics “Margaritaville,” “Come Monday,” “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” and, of course, “Changes In Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes,” along with other crowd-pleasing favorites, including “Brown Eyed Girl,” “Scarlet Begonias,” “Another Saturday Night” and “Hey Good Looking”.
The show starts at 7 p.m and includes a delicious meal with a “Bama Breeze” salad (baby iceberg wedge, candied pecans, mandarin oranges, shredded carrots, cucumbers, pickled red onions, and everything green dressing); “Margaritaville” stuffed chicken (coconut crusted chicken stuffed with corn and bacon stuffing, ginger sesame green beans, citrus cilantro infused rice, and tequila sunrise butter sauce); and a “Cheesecake in Paradise” (lemon lime cheesecake with caramelized pineapples and mango compote) for dessert. Friday, April 24: Rush Rewards guests will be able to experience the jazz rock songs of 70’s icons, Steely Dan, with Brooklyn Charmers. Featuring some of Chicago’s top players, with masterful precision and an obsessive dedication to the music, Brooklyn Charmers injects a new energy into Steely Dan’s beloved catalogue and bridges the gap between new and lifelong fans alike. Fans can expect to hear Steely Dan classics including “Reelin’ In the Years,” “Do It Again,” “Hey Nineteen,” and more. All Rush Rewards members may receive 1 complimentary ticket at the Rush Rewards Center on the day of the show starting at 8 a.m. Limited first-come, first-served seating will be available. Saturday, April 25: Legendary rock ‘n’ roll singer, songwriter, and record producer, Johnny Rivers, will bring his repertoire of classic rock staples to the stage at the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Event Center. A two-time Grammy Award winner, Johnny Rivers has sold more than 30-million records, with 29 chart hits including “Memphis,” “Secret Agent Man,” “Poor Side of Town,” “Baby, I Need Your Lovin’,” and “Summer Rain”. Born in New York City, River’s historic career began when he was just 15 and recorded his first single, “Hey Little Girl”, which went on to become a regional hit. From there a string of hits followed, along with other amazing career highlights including his signing of The Fifth Dimension to his record label, appearances on all the major TV networks, a slot at The Monterey Pop Festival, and numerous songs featured in major motion pictures.
