Veterans Miracle Center Receives $17,000 Donation from Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady

Albany, NY (July 8, 2019) – The Veterans Miracle Center is pleased to announce that it has received a $17,000 donation from Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady. This generous donation will be used to purchase clothing – including shoes, winter hats and boots – along with personal care and hygiene products and other items, for military veterans and active-duty servicemembers in need throughout the Capital Region.

“This generous donation from Rivers Casino & Resort and its patrons is a great example of Americans pulling together to support the Veterans Miracle Center,” said Veterans Miracle Center General Manager, Jim Pratt. “We are truly overwhelmed by the generosity and compassion of this wonderful organization. We salute Rivers Casino and all of their guests who continue to support the center and all of our veterans.”

The money for the donation was raised at the casino during a Military Appreciation Month promotion in May, a Rivers Casino team member farmers market, and guest donation boxes located throughout the casino floor. Rivers Casino team member volunteers were also on-site throughout the day Tuesday to help out in the center’s warehouse.

“Rivers Casino & Resort is absolutely thrilled to be able to make this donation to help out military veterans and servicemembers in the Capital Region,” said Rivers Casino & Resort Vice President of Human Resources, Kate McMahon. “The Veterans Miracle Center is a fantastic organization, and the entire team at Rivers is wholeheartedly committed to supporting the center’s ongoing mission to provide essential support to our veterans and active-duty personnel.”
