World-Famous British Reggae Band UB40 to Hit the Stage at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady

Schenectady, NY (May 13, 2019) – As part of their 40th anniversary celebration, internationally renowned reggae band, UB40, will be bringing their hit songs to the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Event Center on Saturday, September 28, 2019.

In addition to showcasing new songs from their latest album, “For The Many”, the British reggae stars will treat fans to many of their Top 10 singles, including “Kingston Town,” “Food For Thought,” “One In Ten,” “Don’t Break My Heart,” “Sing Our Own Song,” and, of course, their Billboard Hot 100 Number One hits, “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” and “Red, Red Wine”.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, May 15 at 10 a.m. and start at $45. Tickets are available at riverscasinoandresort.com, tickets.proctors.org or the Proctors Theater Box Office in Schenectady. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.

UB40 formed in Birmingham, England in 1978, naming themselves after the British unemployment form. Their debut album, “Signing Off”, released in August of 1980, is considered by many to be one of the greatest reggae albums ever released by a British band.

The band has since gone on to achieve considerable international success and, with forty UK Top 40 hit singles, seen their albums reside in the UK’s Top 75 album chart for a combined period of eleven years – making UB40 one of the most successful British groups of all-time.

UB40 has been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album four times and were nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Group in 1984. Their latest album, “For The Many”, was released in March and is their first new studio album in five years.
